School & Sports Physical Examinations
Quakerbridge Pediatrics offers physical examinations to meet the requirements of schools, camps, or sports associations prior to your child’s participation. School and sports physicals are meant to raise awareness of any medical or physical conditions that may interfere with your child’s ability to participate in sport or physical activities. During a routine physical examination, Dr. Milan R. Kapadia will review the student or athlete’s complete health history and ensure the child is up-to-date with all immunizations before providing authorization. A child’s vitals, joints, and flexibility will also be assessed during a physical. The pediatric physician will also check the patient’s vision and perform a short fitness assessment in order to properly diagnose any possible limitations on physical activity. The primary goal of a physical examination is to ensure your child is healthy enough to join in activities and to discuss possible health concerns and preventative safety measures. Dr. Milan R. Kapadia will be able to identify common injuries and recommend possible exercises and technique to avoid future problems.
Prepare For A Physical Examination
To prepare for a physical examination at Quakerbridge Pediatrics, we ask that you bring any forms or letters required by your child’s school or athletic association so that Dr. Milan R. Kapadia can provide the proper authorization. Please be ready to discuss any relevant health information regarding previous healthcare treatments, surgeries, family illness or disease history, medications, and past injuries. Many states may require your child to undergo a physical examination at least once a year or before beginning a new sport’s season, joining a camp, or participating in other forms of physical activity. Please contact your school or athletic association for more information regarding specific requirements.
